Tight Deadline

It was 2 weeks to 2023 New Year. So this family wanted to do a present and a building permit. An exciting challenge!

About Location

The lot is located in the Montopolis neighbourhood in the city of Austin, Texas. Is close to highway and is a corner lot.

Design Process

1. Concept Design

Checking different planning options allowed the client to get better solutions for the tight space.

Concept Design

This stage includes Custom Planning and Options for House sitting on the lot.

The results were:

INTERIOR

We intended to make the space visually wider, and to implement wood with mid century style feature according to the client's request. We made mood boards to achieve the desired results.

Building Permit

This set of drawings is a Simplified version of construction documents. It shows to the building department the design is done per local code.

The building permit was obtained with the 1st submission before the New Year!

Construction Documents

We confirmed the planning with the city with the Concept drawings. Then we did Architectural, Structural, MEP, and forms to get a Permit to Start Construction without additional design work.
